which is well-made American culture and international culture. Because they don't want to spoil people. I'm not gonna deliberately spoil something, but yet I know how important it is to be able to like avoid learning what happens in something. um brow beating other people about quote not spoiling this I think that has become in my appearance that people are spoiler cops a lot of the time. But like I think the spoiler stuff is silly and I'm tired of being admonished by people who don't actually care about it. Uh they it's more Harold and Kumar than uh you know what? Keep on rolling or uh in Plex it does that for TV shows. Ten minutes, she didn't realize it was Julia Garner and she was like me very surprised to see Josh Brolin just pop up in like a big role in the movie. You know, like when you skip like the montage of with Layla um and all the dung dung dung dung dung and they're finding all the bodies while Henry does a voiceover, except in this case It's a little boy. God, it's not a fable, quote. Okay, yeah. the one kid who didn't disappear is telling this story. This is one night at 2. That 17 of 18 kids in one class disappeared, and there's a lot of pressure on her, and that's kind of where the story starts.

I did not expect it to be almost a small anthology of a No, s I d I don't have much to say about this movie other like in terms of the story, uh other than like was really, really good and the cinematography is exquisite. particular guy because Matt and I are watching it Billy has a shower. understandably, but like this is not a movie that y where you can just miss a dream sequence because you were talking about shoes. badly. And it's not your problem is the problem is that like this isn't your thing and you don't have boundaries. And but then you get into like the whole you're not allowed to hug kids or drive them home and where you're like, oh that seems like a nice thing to do, but his job is to maintain order at the school.

And uh button. But just again to paraphrase or semi-quote Roger Ebert, it's not what the movie's about, it's how it's about it. My personality does not rely on on being the one who figures out what happened in this episode of SVU. This is important. And and even still, do you think that's gonna change anything? Okay, I'll just be the bad guy and admit I I am no longer content to live in a world where you cannot talk about any aspect of something. And again, clarity, right? They have absolutely no intention of watching it. You don't feel cowed by by the people who go like don't tell me what happens in the Empire Strikes Back? But like should the rest of the world like sit around and wait for you to watch everything?

is because there have been people who did that to us in a way that maybe wasn't always fair or nice or kind or even attempting to be useful. that there are people who are just who are plot nannies in any way they feel is appropriate, that, you know, I and on ironically enough, it's similar to the way that we sometimes just call something privileged ev just when we want to take somebody down a peg. Ugh, I well I'm skipping that episode. Like and just uh even trying to describe the Simon the Simon one Trying to describe why that means so much to me, to Roderick, who's also seen it. He doesn't know. Especially because, you know, we all go through things with people in our family who have, you know, if not fallen dementia, at least memory issues and it's just But a day will come when Marceline probably doesn't remember either.

And seriously, at this point, if you don't want to be spoiled, I can't help you. You know how they say a good movie teaches you how to watch it? Extraordinary things happen. You watch as they run across all these rain-glazed streets and driveways, all these different kids. Mm-hmm. Yeah, but also like kinda ranch houses, so it's really like okay. clues that you would be able to notice in the first that the opening scene or at least Oh absolut absolutely and and like even in the way that the story's told. And now and then it's so beautiful the way they do this. And then now we're gonna meet a fucking Benedict Wong. Mm-hmm. Yeah, ex yeah. You know, my kid is not abandoned. I love I love the stuff with the Drugie Kid.

Mm and the thing. So in the j I think it's in the Justine one when the cop comes to the bar, um, we're seeing from like behind her back as he walks in. And you can't even see, you can't see it's like during, it's it was during Justine's dream sequence, which is so dark. I just I wish I had just a code word I could say. Is is was Josh Mole in the second story? Because it was written with the kind of precision that I aspire to and admire. My my family does not like jump scares. single one of these is not not just earned. I feel like. The the what this movie is. And I knew this was something I'd want to see, right? No, I g I guess I don't experience in in this in r day-to-day. My my most amazing theater experiences have been going or movie experiences have been not knowing what's gonna happen in it, including I I don't even want to know.

Though those people are weird and it's almost like we're different. Um, the second step is becoming more okay with it. That the cro like the crown is this magic keeps me alive, but it's making me crazy, right? He has to use the crown he feels like to protect her, like in the in the grocery store by the greeting cards, right?
