330. Ridden the Elephant

So for the last, I don't know, week or so, uh two weeks, I've been mostly sleeping with the gravity blanket. I can't move. I wake up the next day like, uh, have a coffee and you know, wash down my uh antidepression medicine, which as you'll recall from a couple years ago can make me very, very nauseated. That's fine. I got it all figured out. Like so many people in this world, if I could be different, I would be. And then that doctor's gonna come in with his with his l white suit and his fucking stethoscope and ex exercise the real power. And then there's not there's three. I don't know. I'm talking about when Mitch Howitz redid the weird season. Yeah, you're fucking multimillionaire. 'Cause if you say the wrong thing the wrong way at the wrong time, you peg yourself as a rube and you're just seen as very, as Colin Malloy would say to John Roderick, very gauche.

I mean Alice Wearingen can dress however he feels like 'cause he's fucking Alice Wearingen. Please. And so no one probably clapped at the end of that. I learned about this at like nine o'clock last night. Uh no, I don't think you would. And we have a shared blanket or uh a comforter if you like.

Yeah, I'm not sure. And frankly, I don't care. And then um, but I text you and I was like, oh no, I saw a little so it's a little too long. Then then that's that's just how you live. M or something and you're like, yeah, I went to bed later than I wanted to because, you know, I was still doing stuff and I go to travel and I'm a little anxious and So anyway, things are going okay there. I have not listened to Leslie's episode, but I'm glad you had Carol on. And uh the funny uh you know, wallets or or the shoes. I'm actually pretty cool. Kara uh Kara, go um Google. Tattle on Casey. participation in the show just gets to make shit up. Stuff up and talks to people about me behind my back. Anyway, well it's funny, it was funny because like the the lead was something like, you know, the two things I've read about this movie are like uh well it's basically that like just you think before you saw uh Grand Budapest or like before you saw Anymore Wes Anderson.

or not all the time. Now, I understand there's a case to be made for that. where you're like resistant. I i the word noncompliance comes up so much. shoots it up to the cloud. No doctor has ever preceded you in an exam room. Fuck. Like and the agency that you have as a big thing. Right now, but the just No you sound worse. And Trintelex to attract the ph the prescriber over here to answer any of your and then I'm doing a hand waving thing, the French hand waving thing here. You know, have you been compliant? Where things have gotten a little quiet. And like I realized this show could be way better than looks and it probably is, but this is what shows look like when they're not as good as Succession.

What we we just we'd gobbled down this first episode of season whatever this is and then I saw oh yeah it says industry I've heard a lot of people like industry and so Matt and I watched the trailer for industry and I was like okay I know this is a trailer And we um wait, so you you had seen everything up through I'm sorry, help me out. Yeah, I mean I've seen them all. My my pivot to this is going to be um I learned this week on Twitter and elsewhere that I was so relieved about a s a thing I thought was a secret shame. the show. And only, you know, tangentially about the relationships and the family and all those things beyond the family. The Sandy and Stewie can't buy him out. And the the way I f I feel like they presented this really well at a certain point where it's like, okay, L Logan needs to figure out w what's gonna happen with this company. I I think I over uh I think I exaggerated.

Like r uh r God, it's like watching a rested development. Life aquatic, you're like, ugh, there could never be any more Wes Anderson movie. Uh uh not necessarily like how autistic is he, but I just I I w I'm I'd like want to know, sir, what what toothpaste do do you use? were quarters I could pay for my cat cancer. Like what what are your friendships like? Pastel colors. She's the good one. Or w like two weeks ago, uh, which was a really big surprise to m Maddie and I, because she was a very, very healthy cat, healthier than our fat trash cat, uh, Francis. So uh we j just happened to take her to the the vet for her normal checkup and we're like, hey, she's just not eating as much. Cancer treatments for cats like chemotherapy and surgery are really successful when you have a cat who is re relatively young.

And um luckily because we caught her uh cancer so early, l uh, like it i it it took us like two weeks to get a definitive cancer diagnosis because it is so early on. um a a trooper. you know, I get Nak Cobra or whatever it was, whatever your coverage was is expiring now. It still doesn't make sense. often feel uncomfortable telling people to give me money is because I have turned down job and I am okay saying this. doing things in a way that is extremely uh damaging to people and how we make c content and uh sucking the souls of not just their employees but other people's time and attention. which is either delivering somebody's French fries or working for iHeartRadio. I don't know. of sub-dad joke levels of humor and observation and ultimately, I'm sorry to say I didn't I didn't I didn't say that it was your fault.

I still, as I said to you, like probably at this point two years ago, I I still there's a part of me that wonders how much of my what I call anxiety could be solved by a 40% improvement in the amount of oxygenation in my body. All the other kids got their pencils out. religion in some ways. I'm just here to like basically make it so the doctor doesn't have to do fucking anything. that because I don't know, I'm broken inside now and I really see that as raw, a a a raw and unapologetic power Some combination of this music and this, you know, like True Detective became the way that like credits looked for two years. Where like you could not have a character as good as in particular I'm gonna say Roman without really I mean Roman is a character that could go extremely wrong. CW with a master's degree kind of shows. It was to catch up on succession, which mm I've just watched the first two episodes of the season and f stall this show. I don't know.
