389. Entrepreneurial Ransom Note

There's this little campfire out here and I really dislike that one. I think most people say, boy, uh yeah, he had to be crazy. And you need to have them, I'm I'm done with you. So like you need to go to this doctor who's gonna set you straight and and give you rules and maybe have a printout about how you're gonna get heart disease if you don't floss more. Which is like whether you like it or not, whether it makes you happy or not, whether you think I'm living up to my potential or not, being me is fucking exhausting. You know what else you know? I'll take up all your things. But over here, as you remember now, we've got a very small clown playing a Calapy. Oh, yeah. I'll eat the sponge too.

It sounds to me like what you'd like to do is listen. Part of asking a question is you don't know the answer, so you ask a question. from kind of a from a lay person's perspective, but i his Hitler biography is really, really good. But like there's questions where even I could I got a little bit like not n not cringy felt cringy, but I felt a little bit like, oh, this is this is the question that somebody like a learned professor dreads having to answer at like a town meeting or something like that. Well there's you can say like a hypothetical or a uh counterfactual or something, right? I don't know. Like the kind of thing where like it's an office event or it's like a somebody's, oh god, a bridal shower or something.

What is what the fuck does that mean? A guy from Vienna fantasized about dicks and that's why we're like we are how we are now. or emotional problem. On the other hand, oh shit, he was so fucking crazy. Because I'd like to talk about all the different kinds of mental health that there are rather than just you do one thing I regard as aberrant or difficult to understand.

Uh well this I suppose is debated, but it was not caused by natural mm chemicals. And so I think it's useful for us uh first of all, I'm not giving up the word crazy. I I I don't know. Boy, yeah, you know that let's let's circle that one because that's a pretty good one. Well, when I talked about it in that post, I wanted to talk about it, not to over-explain the entire thing to you, but to say, if you read this and you're interested, when you watch it, look for these things. Right? uh and especially a lot of his top people were so indifferent to the lives and suffering of of other people. Against boycotts tend to be the kind of people who would not d utilize that thing anyway, or love it so much they can't think about not having it.

You've never even been there. or confident that the way that they're behaving is the way a normal fucking kind human being a uh acts. hollows who like sit under a street lamp and go burp and then throw the bottle out because boy they just saw UFO. Well, clinically, you've got a bin to put that in, but I don't think that's the same thing as people who are hearing are confident that they are hearing voices. But the whole idea of even of like going to a therapist. and all those sorts of things. But like, if we don't separate pers how do we not separate personality problems, social problems, and emotional problems from the I. a therapist situation. I don't know. And you're aware of the fact there's just about almost anything else in the world that you'd rather be doing.

Whether it you know it could be going to the amusement park. or I'm obsessing about this thing, I'm anxious about this thing, that I know well let's put look at yours, look at yours where you're like, you have hallucinations, but you know they're hallucinations. It makes me feel like it's fucking crazy that I can't just not have hallucinations, right? Not just unempathetic, kind of boring. Uh that's it would be like, you know, name nine things you have null response to. What does that mean? Uh change pattern. the uh exposure to sunlight on your watch thing. They seem really normal and like they're your friend, but they're fucking insane. I'm in trouble. World took the ready for me. uh the David Venture video.

Or talk about wickedness rather than evil for all the reasons that we have discussed. Can I can I have a a carve out in one part of mental health for what I call emotional health? Like because the problem is like I almost feel like it almost should be like a cognitive versus behavioral psych. I I wish we could go further than that. tremor in his right hand that he was very uncomfortable about people noticing. You know, I think he probably had some pretty serious emotional and personal issues. was that yes you you you know you hear voices coming from places and things like that.

Or maybe through like a woman in a radiator. uh disorders into things like uh pers you you named it like uh a personality disorder versus a mood disorder and then even under people don't do that Yeah. I'll just I'll just I'll just have to die alone on that cancelled hill. Uh we're you know, we we we all are so deeply invested in the way that our language talks about things and I don't know. that we talk about more. mean the same thing and think that everything is everything. Oh, well in that sense, I guess he wasn't crazy. Probably, but but also a lot of people think trans people are crazy. There's an almost infinite Zeno's paradox of depth we could get into about somebody's disorders. Anyway, I'm sorry.

Which is like people just cannot be fucked to spend more than about twenty seconds of looking at anything before they hang the closest tag they can find on it and move on back to Instagram or whatever. Like don't clan don't throw out these 75 cent words that you've learned about how horrible the world is unless you have a little bit of curiosity about learning what the fuck is actually happening. pleases you because that's usually the motivation behind it. Did the thing the other day. versus uh the public who is like, yes, we're going to boycott Walmart because they don't their DEI program stopped or we're boycotting Id um everything doesn't happen like what whatever. from the inside workers.

crazy, just uh like unhinged from reality uh itself. buying posters on Amazon when we were uh picketing at uh Howard Brown is the most recent example, which is a uh clinic in Chicago the uh see I'm being a word person now. for this is an evil thing. evilness and not wickedness, I don't just find boring, but like counterproductive in a way that flattens humanity in a really upsetting way and excuses w in regards to like emotional health ver uh versus mental health. um who are not fucking crazy. who have jobs and can do things. uh the antisocial behavior, how much of that is from trauma and how much of it is uh chemical or organic, as you said, and I d I don't really I don't know. thing that has nothing uh to do with any sort of mental health.

for a lot of people, whether that's a therapist or a regular old doctor, it's like your time, your come up has come. Feebleness. uh lots of negative feelings towards authority, especially medical uh authority um and the history of, you know, mental I mean, in in one sense it must, but on the other sense, actually not at all, I'm guessing. that I don't find myself returning to those thoughts that then distract me from the life I'm trying to have this moment. We all deal with stuff, but the stuff that I deal with is is exhausting. But I don't know if I'm mentally unhealthy. Why am I not a potted fern? Write so hard it makes you cry? Is that oh that okay so this is the first one? I can live with.

We I didn't know there were online escape rooms. If we took a holiday, just some time to celebrate, Jelly Bean Benitez? I wasn't going to say I was I was about to say the only uh uh person that I can think of that I would have the name of is Madonna or the um the the woman who did running up that hill, but I Don't remember her name right now. I don't know enough to say except for the things that I feel qualified to say about myself and to some extent the observations of other people. Where is the line between, okay, let's say I've taken care of the mental or organic chemical part with medication or whatever and Um you know what I mean?

are aware that they are trying to please their therapist to some degree. desire to be better at something, you're doing it because a third party needs to know that you've been punished. m more issues with uh I I I also hate that word issues, but you uh I'm working on my issues. What uh are you comfortable with sharing what that would mean? And you're not, you'd be kind of a dick. Uh that's just not my jam. Yes. I uh huh. I mean you can't you can't measure an absence. I uh uh oh no I yeah, I really liked this challenge more than I not more than I th thought I would. And d are you're not in the doc uh or the spreadsheet or something. Ye yeah, try to change something specifically on data that's already been recorded.

Like that to mean when you say mental health, I think of things like like organic things, not just organic things I know there's a unhealthy amount of I want to make you happy and make sure I am passing this test, which is a very much emotional Okay, should we do the uh challenge?

It is the call for people who are trying to have control of what you are boycotting. Think about the idea of a functioning alcoholic, right? I fucking hate stuff like that.
