368. Diaper Dogs

This week's challenge create a DBF GPT. And like with here's the thing, just so you know, you love I love when I get a warning before going into a a pet companion's house. Yes. But people in movies used to say things like, um, let's just say farewell for now, or something like that. I could have done so much better than that. I d wouldn't consider it like an area of concentration, but yeah, I've met cats that I liked. They're gonna want a lot if they could have contemporaneous as they see on MSNBC in real time information to go along with looking at the slides. Which is where you go in and change the prompt and the sliders and all that stuff. Like doing anything with layout where I didn't really know what I was doing, or like maybe I'd done this thing to print out on the image writer and then I wanted to be on a list writer.

You're missing out on so much because of your weird ego. I'm slow to generate. Um, oh yeah, the ancient bird in the wall though. It's much more like, no, there was an there was an airport inside of an airport, and inside that airport was a museum, and inside the museum was another airport. I would just spend hours and hours or one that I w got really hung up on was Lizzie Kaplan and Adam Scott in The Thin Man. And then you demanded that the bus be stopped w when you went and climbed a tree so you could touch the bird. Some are a complete idea, but many are just fragmentary notes. 'Cause it wants to play, even, like, undoes years of habituation and training, and that dog might just beat the shit out of your dog because it was off leash. I don't know how to put this without sounding like a thief or a weirdo, but to not have an admonition about saying, well, I understand you would like you would like a film, and I'm gonna make this now.

And I they call that different things in different places, like heat or whatever, but it really makes sense. You know, a airplane lands inside of an air there's an airport inside of an airport that has a gift shop that has a museum that has another airport inside of the museum gift shop and all that Scarlet Johansson and the the, you know, uh watering helmet or whatever. the y it's a video. Oh, I forgot to leave off the other one. Joel, I think. It's weird. Th they don't necessarily want you to have different GPTs for different tasks. Uh didn't understand this literally until last week when um uh friend of the show Greg and uh the app drafts. W and s so was I, but I didn't realize that even like the plus plan or whatever didn't give you access Because all the work had already been done, the UUN encoding and all that had already been done, whatever that means. See, I don't I don't I don't remember. But seriously though, that ancient bird in the wall, isn't that a thing with the face? What looks like the cowl and reveals a face underneath and then she gets three eyes. I have this secret weird thing. If I had to describe this to somebody to like explain how to make this shot, imagine you're in a really dilapidated bathroom, like a room that's like falling apart, and imagine there's uh a bathtub on both sides.

Like there's a proper way to do a lot of things and it matters even when it does it because it's a practice, right? But maybe you maybe you never need those keys, but you take them with you because that's a sign of character to do that properly. to play with, I would say. Oh, by I uh sorry, but by vibe, I almost mean just the the workflow of uh yeah, let's try another one. But you kind of got to use it to get a feel for it. Whereas other things, it just keeps making different weird shit. mostly like Scarlet Johansson. You can add pan tilt rotate and zoom to a shot, pick aspect ratio, negative prompt. If you're trying to use something that's a synon, if you're if it's important to your prompt to use a synonym that has a much more dictionary. You can keep and unlike ones on my Mac even, I could just go I could be fucking making these all night like bap bap bap bap bap generating generating generating get 10-15 of these generating work on other things when that one's done you come back.

About as close as you get to a perfect use of this for me. I could keep that in notes to some like dumb ghost thing. Um, all that that all works together, but there's it's so perfect for dreams because and like I said on that dumb website thing, I this is not what my dreams look like Too much specific and it depends a lot on where you're doing this. Claude, Gemini, and Chat GPT about mental health because uh like the of just like basically especially computer career. Until I get what I wanted, part one, from a practical standpoint. But but talking in particular about like, well, people come into this thick and they can bark orders at the AI. Again, to quote the great Matt Howie, you know, making weird shit.

red police light on her head and I'm struggling to get the flashing light. these different ones and doesn't it make you feel crazy to be using more than one? switch the context of the conversation in a really smooth way, even with the free uh version. Tell it, hey, I'd like to totally shift gears. Um or you could get them from the NNTP server. That's gonna use a lot more credits than or tokens if you like. I don't know. Which uh even if you s so I subscribe to Plus or whatever. When he says, Miss Galightly, I must protest. You can't describe it. Oh. There's so much specificity to recurring themes in my dreams. And that's not possible. But it won't be that cute. team I wanted to start just by making a new project called Do by Friday.

Yeah, that that's why I like going to different models uh like a Claude or just doing a new Starting a uh new conversation with uh or a new message, I think they're calling them now, with chat GPT. It's not two different things, but this goes beyond the proper way to do something and extends to basic empathy and I I hope, but I'm not optimistic about the way people think of uh It doesn't mean that we can't do our part to try and make life less difficult for other people. And it's it's hot fucking garbage and it's poorly made and the people who use it have never used it. Uh uh like you said, zoo people use zoo. Try to show up uh f uh five minutes early for for you. This started by talking about the periods at the end of uh text messages. to our moms over the computer and they don't know how to u p push these buttons. And I just am interested in how quickly those norms change, like the the spotties at the end of sentences.

Right. the thing that everyone used for a while. I love when that happens. Wife has come back and then someone seizes in the machine. Oh darn it. What does that mean? And unlike some prompts, I'm not saying this is good, bad, or indifferent, but if you have if you're kind of left-brained, um you can kind of left-brain your way into this thing being what you want. But that all together, all those different parts, and they each matter, like being able to get in the weeds about this, being able to replicate what you've done, being able to like do those high levels of tweaks and sliders, being able to generate tons of these, but then also having it.

And I'm trying to figure out how best to plan a new way I'm gonna do my 3D printer setup. with with that book and generative AI is like and we again we we talked about this last week but and the after show but give us your fucking money dot com if you want to support the show. I still haven't seen the last episode of Adventure Time. You know, that sounds weird. Do you uh ever have mm, let's do you have any uh rituals that you let people know about before they come into your home? I mean, just in general, like for life, yes, it's not just my home, but yeah, I mean I think yes, yes, for sure. when lockdown started, about a m a month in, Zoom went just it it I don't I don't know how to describe it.

If I've had a particularly vivid dream, I immediately grab my phone and start madly typing a verbatim account of what happened and how it felt with as much specificity as my frantic state will allow. Like, you know, you can get close enough with some stuff, but then you really want to really tweak and use that's where you start to learn a lot about how the two of you work together is in the tweaking. Invent a life hack. Six degrees of polyvinyl. Tell me, because you remember it. Like whatever rock you're looking through, whatever translucent rock you look through at the world is going to have a big impact on on how you see things.

If somebody was like an extreme vegan, like I would not invite them to a place that was like a festival of steaks. You should make sure somebody's somebody has access to this later on. You can also upload images and videos. I didn't even know they were writing a book about us. Oh God, I don't think you can share links to Claude conversation. This is from the Max days. I don't know what I was thinking. Never mind. That's gonna sound like a really kind of an odd phrase to most people, but John and I both know what that means. You see the scene in movies a lot. I'm not trying to stere uh stereotype it uh no, I am trying to ster stereotype because we have this expectation that every culture And this this is the boring part of like, oh, what s type of software do people use?
