This week's challenge, share a few of your favorite things. You don't even allow to say slave bedroom anymore. God damn it. How's host your home course? I got a little Lord Nibbler and he's sticking his tongue out. And I go, Mm. He's not not an English speaker. So yeah, that's a Rancor. Yeah. But even if I don't get a new phone, I will spend the fifteen dollars to check out this phone case because uh an iteration on something every year is very uh Yeah, yeah. I'm like aware of those kinds of things. But it's when they said that Sally Right. I'm not sure. Here's the thing, like I know this sounds crazy, but Nutnut is he's a sweet precious angel, but if the doors open even in a crack, he will make a run for it, and you will spend the rest of the night trying to find him.

But it's unknown things with unknowable stuff on the inside that prevents you from doing things that you really need to know about. I drink a t almost a 12-pack of seltzer a day. I feel like I don't really excel at jokes and all the jokes I know are mostly jokes you can't tell anymore. These are like parrots. And the Spanish language that I don't actually speak. Okay. Pretty quickly I realized almost all of them reduce anxiety or reendorse conf or sorry, reinforce confidence. Yeah. of me. Yeah, yeah. And it was like fires or whatever. You know, you would Max would make fun of me 'cause I would make uh my custom p m magnetic pop sockets and and just put put put magnets everywhere and uh I have a wonderful phone grip that isn't I I I don't know. my Safari location bar at the bottom, the tab bar bar version. Three four days? this like once you find the underwear you're like do you like just keep experimenting all the time? and stuff. Jalen School. Yeah, his name's something like David Jelinsky Jelensky. You know, there are so many mag safe ad adapter ranges. Like is was adjacent to the to the phone case journey that may not end or has not ended? uh little rings where you can just toss up your phone and uh th if you like me enjoy testing the strength of the magnets today.

Z I think since the beginning of Wirecutter recommending phone cases, it has been a version of this phone case. uh a focus on what I enjoy, which is the the hand feel of it. It's so inexpensive, like 20 bucks. Well let's put it this way, I would have had I would still be using the fine woven case that I got when I got the phone, and consequently it would might be in something like the condition a lot of people's fine woven cases are not being negative. I think Popsocket is closer to a phone case than most other things in the world. TPU, which I'm sure you uh uh what is it? is like if you're the sort of person, and I'm not trying to do a joke or make a like a fake Casey Lis war here, but if you're the sort of person who, like me, or or like the character in that movie, that Jennifer Lawrence movie I was just watching, has a very strong feeling about Coke versus Pepsi.

Uh miracle uh d are you aware of hydrocholoid? the chemicals and shit now. And and say hydro and so does it dry it out or the opposite of drying it out? Oh, I don't I don't I don't know. Looks like a pig. Hm, I wish I could say I wasn't bothered uh uh by that. uh this uncomfortable. Yeah, and I mean like y I know we know what reliable is, but if we're you know, it's we have a s such a high bar for certain kinds of things and then we put up with so much shit for others. house and like I'm okay with it but like you here's what you like imagine put it this way how many stuff is there so how much stuff is there in your house that if you left a note for a friend who's gonna house sit for you, how many things would you feel like you have to mention?

and then just change the cable box, right? W when you arrive, restart the router. I know it seems like the cat never moves, but still never leave the door cracked. It's not broken. the clothes and in the middle they kinda there's a like a little latch and it's a very basic little turny latch. Uh don't act like this doesn't matter. But I think I spent somewhere between $20 and $40 to get a bottle of this and I've been using it for like a year. They're still doing this this charade. to use because they keep fucking with it. Inc you know, including the US justice system or whatever. I want to say battle tested as as somebody who can keep their cool and maybe even I'm guessing temper, accelerate. And an important note, we didn't really address noun, a member of a mafia family who serves as an advisor to the leader and resolves dispute Yeah, I mean yeah, you gotta when when San Santa when Santa go uh s it like when when Santa Fe is getting like out one of Carmen Santino.

And and we have a new kiosk, which it's not quite it's not glamour shots, it's not virtual reality, it's not any one thing, but it is doable by Friday. falls under under uh the category of reducing anxiety. I I I just would look at them and be like, I could listen, I know all of these phone cases are, you know, like dropshipped and they're from China and but some of them are really good and some of them are Uh it's one of the things that reduces anxiety because i i if I can send something via plain text.

to fix them. i it was a fun way to play with stuff. spell things, you know what I mean? And uh I say MagSafe specifically because I I think it is another f form of play. Yeah, well I mean not even check uh uh back in on like you just ha you you said you got a new little uh s s stand for your uh phone and I mean Like I'm I there's been more than one especially woman in my life who has said something like that these pants would be perfect except they ruined it with this one thing like that dress would be perfect except for that big bow they put on it or this is a thing that a lot of women encounter about fit, about well, sorry, I'm not saying this to like just say words, but fit and finish. And there's other kinds of things where you're like, oh, this would be fine, except for like, oh, one of mine on my list is like I don't look forward to using this.

it. uh inexpensive, not cheap, which I really like. phone I think you sent me the wrong one but I I liked it so much it looked so promising that I I did order one in the correct size and I'm still it's on my phone right now. interesting. But like it's just weird 'cause I'm just used to having one. It's just that for the uses that I have for it, I it already frustrates me that I I did something I couldn't imagine doing a year ago, which is I s I'll switch back to the old way and put Which of course we all know the only position for that. I think that argument it's not an argument. character as well. I actually most of my pop sockets are used on things that aren't my phone. Oh y oh yeah, no. Uh and it it's better than the rubber.

so much better. Coke tastes better than Pepsi in every s to me in every side-by-side comparison is by analogy what makes the McDonald's version of those those drinks. An ongoing adventure rather than a journey or or a quest. This goes into r uh r r relieving a anxiety. Like how d how well was this thing made? I like you said, I have uh uh uh a fairly neurotic you did not call it neurotic, I am calling it neurotic. now, um, be because as we talked about last week, I I ride them hard, uh, is actually because they are slippery and uh my my little trump hands aren't very good at uh holding holding them.

I sent you I forget why I sent you a smartish grip monk phone case a while back. There's a uh I enjoy a phone case, just in general, that gives you a bit of c confidence. it has uh a little bit of a texture on the s side of the phone with the little bit of nubbiness all over, but then it has invaginations on both sides that are almost like finger grips. Yes, and it's just enough that uh it's a little bit uh too visible for my taste to make the phone or or the case better and more um just just uh it they have uh really cared about different hand sizes. And that's with the quote small size, it's uh Right. So m re it reduces a ton of anxiety. No, no, no, no. that uh it it doesn't literally doesn't taste like anything else in the world.

Silver? um colloidal uh I guess p uh p patches now on my face for acne. That's awesome. Uh but you gotta be careful. Yes, in uh always brand infinity flex foam. And then it's like, well what here's what you do guys. But um and just real quick, things that are reliable, repeatable, available, unambiguous, and the things that I want to use. That and it's there's obviously a lot, you know, of uh pardon my menstruating, uh little overflow between those, but it's reliable. Like where that door is that has that lock. um 20 years ago. You're kidding, really? anyone park in their driveway. And every time a scene like that comes up, I I turn to Mattel and I go, nope. the my shampoo has been both of the shampoos I like have my been discontinued.

And the one that's closest to what it's like three different kinds because everything's special now. um smells like grapefruit. And I saw that there was some, you know, some used shampoo. But I always I'm always excited because then I say something like, oh I get to use what's called dev tools? Right? I don't know. We talked about that thing where I asked ChatGPT to give me a matrix of items that we buy often versus you use often, et cetera. That's why I like the Ikea Fracta bag. Um, I don't know how to uh uh be funny at the end. Sweet Alex. I wouldn't have given it a thought. Hey Alex, where's the beef? quote one joke that is Oh is that like I I identify as uh an attack helicopter as a No that's a very funny joke but that's not the joke I'm making.

What is the one joke? And uh and uh at the at the big overlit, you know, uh party outside, and he says to his wife, Hey, hey, keep em keep what is what does he say? Either way. Oh, for for sure. Or possibly um oh who's the wonderful the wonder uh Patty Lupone. Oh Reset. In the documentary parody. What? I'm I don't know. That's not how it works. And so my favorite things is where you talk about things that you like. It's one of the few spices I enjoy. Or like or like you could also amplify that. happened as I started making a list of Sa Say what you said in your text because it was really good. just getting away from that because like you said, negativity is I I don't know. That uh talk by Al Alan Watts uh par parentheses side note. I don't have a facility to give you that context every time I post a sentence about something. that I hated. But I did it because I'd seemed crazy not to.

Like the Oxford Dictionary of the English language, one of the most American things there could be. Yes, and it is something that I've never needed to explain to anyone I I was like it listen, if we just arranged these in the right way. quest to find uh good phone cases, especially since it seems like there's there's a bar of like it needs to be something that meets these criteria that you like, but like it also needs to not have that one thing about it that drives you crazy. For a phone case recommendation, that's always my go-to. humanity to it. Apple's phone cases, uh, weirdly, not not the best grips. But if it weren't the case that I like this one so much, I I would try going Nico because it seems like with the with the sides and everything, it's pretty grippy.

And uh j j genuinely if I had this in high school, it would have been awesome. They uh it was one of those. my life a ton over the past few you few years, not just because, you know, acne I still find uh, you know, stressful and embarrassing, but when I get acne now, it's Yeah, it's i exactly. Does doubting Thomas ever come up and want to put his fingers into your wound? I had, I, oh God, I wish I could find this. the door handle to the bathroom because the wood expands and it's humid. Where's like and like remember uh the reason I keep coming back to this Alex is when Max would say my neighbors You gotta uh but when Max would say to you you gotta move Alex, you gotta move, you gotta get out of that house.

Whatever that is. Oh god, I was gonna guess fifty. Should we do a callback of some kind? understand how to be good at it, but I enjoy playing in the space despite losing constantly. weekly call from his aunt to know whether oral sex is mainstream now at his middle school. With an emphasis on MagSafe because after well, uh okay, so magnets ever since I was a kid, like Because I don't think we would have MagSafe as sort of a standard, because now I'm always seeking I'm seeking pants that will that will that will accommodate my short rise and like but you know no seriously though like there's all the stuff where you're like there's certain kinds of things you go, oh yeah that's great, I'll use that, that's fine.

Mm-hmm. phone case. If it produces anxiety, it's not one of your favorite things. Formerly known as the company Silk, God, this is so boring. You can make rubber like th what's an example TPU in your life? I'm slow. Can can I just quickly say my things and then we'll leave? This assumes that you must write, or I guess you kids could make a video. And he's never in the same place. And I the la one of the last things I need right now is uncertainty about going to the next place. Because for like me, so this is why, and I'm not going to just talk about MacWeldon, even though I wear MacWeldon's shirts every day. Your world will get better. Say say something uh funny. Because I know I only ever want Colgate and Nevercrest. Um, I don't want to say anything about anybody, but they're the entire cast is good. I'm excited. Did you have braces? Um, I only brush string lint. What do we say now? I you're doing the one joke. Do you have someone in mind for a uh wartime conciliary like Maybe it's a challenge. So on the one hand it's a conciliary. There's those kinds of things. And America is still kind of reeling from Sam Peckinpah having a movie that people liked and watched. For reasons that in retrospect are probably well, I mean she was born in nineteen thirteen. It is one of the things that I've done. Anna ruined her winker. Oh gosh, I should have put salt on.

Here's one problem. And so like a frustration of mine, and I'm listening I didn't know Alice was gonna put that thing in last week about how I think everybody's dumb. I didn't know that was the show, but it was good and we left it in. It's not it's not that it doesn't it oughtn't ever be scrutinized, the things in your life. has been a delight since it came out. on this list because I I actually could not find I don't know where it came from, but it's not a few. I I hate big phones, but I love big cameras in the phone. Where you say, you know, well, we don't have cook, but we have Pepsi, and you're like, well, in that case, I'll just have water. And one of them is their favorite thing in the world, and the other one needs to really not happen.

And that's it. And after I finally realized, so I realized my preferred shampoo. People, what the fuck are we even doing here? We use it to inflate tires on my wife's car. You ever seen those? Oh. David Lynch. You're doing like a little bit of an an offset a little bit like what What what's a consigliere what's a god I will never be able to say it. And so but then you've got people who are like, hey, you know, you also need this is not it's already breaking down, a secretary of state, for example.
